That One Time We Won 3rd Place for “Best Booth” (And Brought the Beach With Us)

When the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce throws a beach-themed Business Expo, you know That One Photobooth is going to show up with leis, sass, and seriously good photo ops.

On June 12, 2024, we were honored to take 3rd Place for “Best Booth” — and let’s be honest, we were just there to have fun and make a splash! But hey, we’ll take the award (and the bragging rights).

What We Brought to the Beach (Indoors)

We brought along our Selfie Booth, decked it out in full luau style, and invited attendees to strike a pose with our beachy props — think leis, sunglasses, margaritas (okay, tiny cardstock ones), and major beach energy.

But the best part?

Guests snapped their photos and sent them straight to their phones, making it easy to share their beachy best with coworkers, clients, and curious friends.

Oh, and we weren’t just there for pretty pictures — we also ran a little promo magic: Fill out a quick survey on the booth itself = entered to win $100 off your next photo booth rental.

And of course, we had samples of our printed photo strips and custom collage designs so people could see just how good their event could look with our graphic overlays. Spoiler alert: it’s very good.

Romy, Our Roaming Queen, Stole the Show

While the Selfie Booth held down the fort, Vanessa took our roaming booth, Romy, out for a spin — and she did not disappoint.

Romy made her way through the entire Expo, capturing vendors who couldn’t leave their booths and giving attendees a second chance to get in on the photo action. Let’s just say... no one was safe from the fabulousness.

Why This Win Meant So Much

Look — we’re not in it just for the awards (though they look great next to our props). Being recognized as one of the top booths was such an honor, especially among so many incredible local businesses.

As proud members of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, we loved getting to showcase a couple of our photo booth experiences while giving attendees something to remember the event by. Whether it was a digital selfie or a snapshot with Romy, we hope everyone left with a smile — and maybe a few new ideas for their next big event.
